My Desire

So Jeremy Camp's deep voice drew me in like Todd Agnew's did EXCEPT Jeremy differs from Todd in that he doesn't have a grainy quality to his voice.  His is as smooth as butter.  Man the deep and smooth voice of Jeremy Camp gets me every time.
The first song I heard of Camp's was "Restored" and it was penned out of his testimony.  Jeremy married the love of his life and shortly after their marriage she died from cancer.  So he became a widow at a very young age.  And subsequently had to walk through some stuff with God because of his heartbreak.  A few years down the road he met a woman, another artist, named Adie and now they have at least a couple of kids together.  :)  God restores.
Camp is down to earth and I appreciate that more than anything.  His songs reflect his desire to know God in deep and personal and real ways.  I REALLY appreciate that!
My Desire is about desiring to die to self and take up the cross of Christ.  It's about desiring to live out purpose.  Don't we all desire to have purpose and to have the opportunities to live that purpose out?  The desire for purpose, the mission of that purpose, the actual living out of that purpose all comes from one source. God.

The End of Affirmation 365

I've been thinking about it for over a month. Usually, when I'm in it I'm engaged. But this time? I started it indifferent and I've felt indifferent all along. I should have never started. Hindsight is 20/20 they say and they aren't wrong. So when I opened my eyes this morning it was clear. It's time. Time to quit this 365. This is the first 365 that I haven't posted several of the days, the first 365 that I wasn't super excited about, the first 365 that I've quit. I've changed my social media presence and interactions the past year so this is also the first 365 that hardly anyone has been interested in. Is it the topic or my decision to not be as accessible on social media? Or is it some other reason altogether? Well, regardless...I'm throwing in the towel on this one. I can't say if I'll ever do another 365 again. Time will tell and I will know if and when it's time.
