#ThoughtfulThursday

I get accused of being stupid with some of the things I do. For example, one time I assembled these superhero packets...for adults. I put in a color-your-own mask, a power cuff (fine it was a bracelet but go with it), some motivating thoughts about what it takes to be a superhero, and a way to devise their own superhero name. I made the packets colorful and superhero-ish. I included a note about why they were getting the packet (hint - because they matter and they are superheroes). There were grumblings over how stupid I was to make the packets and hand them out. The thing is, I didn't just hand them out for the mere sake of being silly (although I don't think there is anything wrong with that) but I did it because I had a message I wanted the people to receive. A message I knew most of them needed to hear. I had a reason, I always have a reason. Don't be shy about being thoughtful - even if you think it might come off as stupid. Just be thoughtful in some way,...

You never need regret thoughtfulness. It will always make an impact that you may or may not see. I believe, and Mother Teresa did as well, that there is a famine of thoughtfulness. So today take a time out and extend yourself in a thoughtful act or word toward someone.  Need an idea for thoughtfulness? Try one of these (and note how easy and simple being thoughtful is!):

All of our technology is great except when it isn't. And when it isn't is when it makes us forget to be thoughtful. There used to be a day when people didn't need to be reminded to be thoughtful. It was much more natural than it is now. It seems that the saturation of technology has eliminated our ability to be thoughtful. And I'm not talking about actions, I'm talking about how we speak to one another. It lacks thoughtfulness - especially when we are divided over something. Today don't let this modern world keep you from rushing past a moment to practice thoughtfulness, especially in how you speak to people. Here's an idea or two for thoughtfulness:

Do you have a personal standard of conduct? Have you ever thought about it? Today's quote about thoughtfulness has me thinking. Places of business have standards of conduct in their employee handbooks (usually) and it serves as an outline for how they expect employees to behave in the workplace and sometimes outside of it as well. Well, what about a personal standard of conduct? For #ThoughtfulThursday consider your own personal standard of conduct and consider making thoughtfulness part of it.
