thrive THrÄ«v/ verb grow or develop well or vigorously. prosper; flourish. Often what applies in life can apply to business and vice versa. I ran across this article that is for entrepreneurs but the majority of the points can be applied to life as well. This point, in the article, keeps popping up so it seems to me it's key for thriving rather than surviving. The point is this, focus on continual growth and development. And yes, we must do that in order to get beyond survival mode. Wondering if you are growing? Well if you are wondering then chances are good you aren't but just in case, here's some roadblocks to personal growth for you to consider . Continuing in education of ourselves is key to a thriving life and if you need any more convincing here are just some of those benefits . So on this #ThrivingThursday look at your personal growth, are you stalled out or moving forward? If you need some new-to-you ideas try one of these , number 3 really hit me sq...

thrive THrīv/ verb grow or develop well or vigorously. prosper; flourish. When we stop growing we start dying, this truth that I know but am glad to be reminded of is part of an article I read recently - 10 Key Truths to Living a Thriving Life . I recommend reading this article and considering its points. When we thrive we can change our world and tip a domino toward changing the world.

thrive THrīv/ verb grow or develop well or vigorously. prosper; flourish. Here's a question for us today on #ThrivingThursday , Do You Want to Survive or Thrive in Life? It's a good question. We will all say we want to thrive, of course! But do we actually mean it? Do we even know what it means to thrive in life? Today is a chance for you, and I, to think about this life we are living and think about it we are living it passively or actively.

thrive THrÄ«v/ verb grow or develop well or vigorously. prosper; flourish. A few years ago one of my favorite bands, Casting Crowns, came out with a song titled "Thrive." There is a line in the song that has caught fire, so to speak. "It's time for us to more than just survive, we were made to thrive" The word thrive is what really sticks with me. It's such an intentional word - one that is weighted with so much meaning, so much more than what the word "alive" conjures up. The word alive indicates breaths being taken, brainwaves active, blood flowing. But the word thrive. The word brings to light what life is really supposed to be - developing, prospering, flourishing. I'll be honest, I don't feel like I'm thriving. I feel, most days, like I'm just getting by - just surviving. And a lot of that is my own fault, I get too much into my head. Here's a really helpful article I found about getting out of my own head , ...

Fahrenheit at Hersheypark in Hershey, Pennsylvania. This inverted vertical loop “lift” coaster starts off swooping riders up 121 feet above the ground only to plunge them right back down in a gut-wrenching, 97-degree negative drop—the steepest in the U.S. At the 121-foot crest, the upcoming drop is at such a steep incline that the only thing riders in the stadium-seating trains see is, well, nothing. No track at all. Once you survive that first drop, there’s still more to come: a 107-foot inverted loop, an inverted corkscrew roll, cobra element, airborne inverted S-roll, another inverted corkscrew, a little airtime hill (stomach floating), a high-speed banked curve, another hill, and then a high-speed banked curve to end it. All this action takes place in about 85 seconds—less time than it takes to polish off a Hershey bar. ( source )

Colossus in Thorpe Park located in Chertsey, Surrey, U.K. is a roller coaster built in 2002. It holds the record for number of inversions: 10. It flips riders over and over and over again in maneuvers called the double corkscrew, the cobra roll, and the quadruple heart-line roll. ( source )  Last week I saw the following clip of one of my faves, Ellen, riding a coaster so here's a bonus clip of coaster riding for you today.

Expedition GeForce at Holiday Park Haßloch in Rhineland-Palatinate, Germany. GeForce is not only one of the largest coasters in Europe, it’s always one of the most complete and satisfying because it’s long enough and not gimmicky. But it’s also harrowing, reaching 4.5 G, a height of 203 feet, and speeds exceeding 74 mph. And there are seven coveted moments of weightlessness when your stomach just floats…and floats again. Maverick at Cedar Point Amusement Park in Sandusky, Ohio. I would be remiss if I didn't include a coaster from Cedar Point. This amusement park is a family favorite. We've been going there since I was a wee one. I actually haven't been in years - I'm not a fan of amusement parks - but many members of my family still go. Maverick, (built in 2007) and most expensive ($21 million), is not one of the park’s highest-tallest-fastest record-holders, but it’s one of its best. It’s plenty fast—at 70 mph—and features eight airtime-filled hills and countless twists and turns. It’s just a more complete ride, and during the longish 2.5-minute trip, there’s even an unusual surprise…which would be spoiled if we told you beforehand. Eejanaika at Fuji-Q Highland in Fujiyoshida, Japan. The name translates roughly to “hey, what the hell,” which is what you will hear others shouting in Japanese when you’re on this ride. Only the second “4-D” coaster in the world (X2 is the other), this has the same 360-degree turns and insane style of head-over-heels spinning on the winglike cars as X2. But there are plenty of differences; for one, this track is a little longer and the ride is far taller—at 250 feet, it’s the seventh-highest roller coaster in the world. And from the top, riders have a spectacular, if brief, view of nearby Mount Fuji. ( source )  Now experience it from a riders point of view.

#ThumbsUpThursday

#ThumbsUpThursday is all about giving people just a wee bit of "way to go." Someone may behave like they don't need a thumbs up but it's not true - every person needs a thumbs up, needs affirmation, they just may need it in a different way than most. So if you've tuned in to someone who doesn't seem to need a thumbs up your mission is to discover what qualifies as a thumbs up to them. In the meantime...for the people that you know love getting a thumbs up here's an idea for today. Sneak something like these postcards on to people's desks or mailboxes or lockers or wherever they are sure to find their thumbs up.
