Fall forward into the moment

Don't wait for the perfect moment, take the moment and make it perfect.   Unknown Only you have a choice about your moments.  You know which ones I'm talking about.  The ones that are standing on the edge and have the potential to fall forward into greatness or crumble in defeat from fear and hesitations.  Only you have the choice to decide what those moments will look like and become.  There are no perfect moments, each one is presented to us for our choice so it is up to you to make it be what you want.   And moments cannot be repeated.  Oh we may come across moments that look similar or feel similar to the one we crumbled on but the moment that we perhaps let get away from us will never be repeated exactly.  So take advantage of moments presented.  Don't let fear keep you on the edge of greatness crumbled in defeat, fall forward in the moment and see what greatness will come from it.

Have I seen you here before?

Each moment is a place you've never been.    Mark Strand You've never been here before. Oh it may look like a place you've been, it may feel like a place you've been, but it isn't a place you have ever been.  Why do I say that (and why does Strand say it)?  Because even though the moment may look and feel familiar you have never been it it with what you know right now.  Since the last time you were in a similar moment you've lived more life and gained more experience.  That changes the moment.  So see, you haven't ever been in this moment.  It's new because of the life you've lived since the last time it came around.  Appreciate the moment and watch out - it will come out around again but it will be new to you, as if you've never been in it except you'll know why next time.

Status of recovery? Impossible

Four Things You Can't Recover: 1) The stone after the throw 2) The word after it's said 3) The occasion after it's missed 4) The time after it's gone Deanna Wadsworth Sad but true.  Read the list again without the "But..." in your head.  Wishing to recover any of those things is not going to actually make them be recovered.  The opportunity is gone and in it's place may be some regret but another opportunity will present itself.  What will you do with the new opportunity? I like word pictures.  I like them even though I'm not great at painting them.  So forgive my weak attempt and try to follow along. The stone was thrown, the gash (wound) inflicted.  (Think in mental/emotional terms on this one will ya?)  What's the new opportunity?  Help clean the gash, apply the antibiotic ointment, and place the band-aid.  Do whatever the one you wounded will allow you to do to make up for the throw.  And remember what happene...

For Saturday, May 19: What kind of collection do you have?

Collect moments not things.   Unknown I spent today (Saturday) sifting through boxes of things with my Grandpa.  Things he has saved over the years that when he sees them he is reminded of a moment.  He thinks the things are the memory but what I hope he discovered as we went through box after box is that the thing isn't the memory.  The moment that brought about the thing is.  Our moments become our most prized collection.  Things break, get lost, lose their representation, get stolen, etc.  But moments.  They find a home within us.  And even if our memory fails us the moment still lives on in our hearts.  My Grandpa has lived a lot of moments in his life, something the things he has collected will never be able to compete with.  So collect your moments and let the things pass you by.
