Jealousy damages

Jealousy is, I think, the worst of all faults because it makes a victim of both parties.   Gene Tierney   When a person, you or someone else, acts out in jealousy it has a domino effect.  The feelings of jealousy, the behavior of jealousy, doesn't stay contained within just you, it reaches out and like octopus tentacles it grabs others and wounds them.  Yes, it wounds .  Jealousy creates irrational behavior, hurtful words, damaging actions, justification, and isolation.  It probably also creates other wounds but those are the first that came to mind.  Ouch.  Want to be part of that ?   Recently I watched jealousy do its damaging work on some people that I love.  It's painful to watch, it was or is even painful to watch the person who is jealous.  The fallout from irrational behavior caused by jealousy can last days, weeks, months, even years.  Both parties involved have to pursue resolution and healing for what the jealousy ...

Defining Jealousy

Jealousy is when you count someone else's blessings instead of your own.   Unknown Today's quote doesn't really need any "unpacking" or additional thoughts from me.  Pretty straightforward right?  Examine yourself and you'll know that jealousy's definition is today's quote.  What I find ironic about jealousy is that while we are occupied being jealous with other people's blessings someone is occupied being jealous by ours !  And we are so unaware to our own blessings.  Let's all try to get our eyes off of what we think are blessings for others and look instead at what we have been blessed with.  Because we have each been blessed - uniquely and specifically.

Song Lyrics Make Great Quotes!

So don't you worry your pretty little mind People throw rocks at things that shine And life makes love look hard The stakes are high, the water's rough, but this love is ours Taylor Swift I can't help it.  You probably knew I would eventually have to throw some song lyrics in as quotes.  I mean, c'mon!  Songs make for great quoting!  And since I did a whole  year  of songs I've got a lot to draw from should I want or need to.   So this one stopped me the first time I heard the line, "People throw rocks at things that shine."  Oh we are so horrible to each other because of jealousy or other emotions (self-righteousness comes to mind)!  Something in us doesn't like it when things are going good, great, for someone else and so we throw "rocks" - negative thoughts, negative opinions, we insert ourselves in and try to be divisive...all under the guise of, "I'm just telling you this because I care about you and don't want to see ...
