For Saturday, May 14: Rediscover You

So this song caught my attention because it's kinda where I've been the past couple of years.  Not that my heart is cold toward God but my heart is definitely cold toward "the Church".  GASP.  Can you believe I just admitted that to the hundreds, er okay 5, of you that read this?!?  And if you know me the confession isn't a new thing you've heard come out of my mouth!  ;)  I love how Starfield just says/sings it like it is.  The lack of passion for Christ in the Church is exhausting to me.  I'm tired of biblical sayings that flow so easily from the tongues of people but haven't rooted in the hearts of people.  I'm tired of worship songs that are all about us and not about God at all (think I'm exaggerating?  Examine some of your fave worship songs - are they about us or God?  Just sayin'.).  That's enough - if I keep going I may be on the soapbox for a while! :)
Anywho...I love the heart that this song conveys.  Bring back the fire Lord!

The End of Affirmation 365

I've been thinking about it for over a month. Usually, when I'm in it I'm engaged. But this time? I started it indifferent and I've felt indifferent all along. I should have never started. Hindsight is 20/20 they say and they aren't wrong. So when I opened my eyes this morning it was clear. It's time. Time to quit this 365. This is the first 365 that I haven't posted several of the days, the first 365 that I wasn't super excited about, the first 365 that I've quit. I've changed my social media presence and interactions the past year so this is also the first 365 that hardly anyone has been interested in. Is it the topic or my decision to not be as accessible on social media? Or is it some other reason altogether? Well, regardless...I'm throwing in the towel on this one. I can't say if I'll ever do another 365 again. Time will tell and I will know if and when it's time.
