Oh you're an adult? Really? I had no idea by the way you speak...

You don't have to disrespect and insult others simply to hold your own ground.  If you do, that shows how shaky your own position is.  Red Haircrow

I have a real issue with people who assert their opinions about all manner of topics with disrespect, derision, patronizing, and foul language.  To use words that are laced with those characteristics is to send the message that you aren't totally secure in what you are saying you believe.  Haircrow has absolutely nailed it with today's quote.  In fact, even though I went "on and on" about how wonderful and vital words are yesterday, the best way to hold our ground on our opinions is to - wait for it - say not much at all.  *GASP*  Why not just live out what you believe about XYZ?  And when you do feel a need to talk about it why resort to using disrespectful tones and language?  I just don't see the need.  We are adults, let's act like ones!  And to get back to the point of today's quote - if you are so secure in your opinions, beliefs, etc then why do you get so hot-headed and disrespectful?  No really, why?  Think through that.  Be logical and reasonable even within yourself.  Could it be that you harbor doubts?  Could it be that you are unsure of your facts?  Or is is that you are just a mean and disrespectful person?  I'm being for real here.  Want to prove to *me* that you stand firmly on and by your opinions and beliefs?  The quit talking and act like it.

The End of Affirmation 365

I've been thinking about it for over a month. Usually, when I'm in it I'm engaged. But this time? I started it indifferent and I've felt indifferent all along. I should have never started. Hindsight is 20/20 they say and they aren't wrong. So when I opened my eyes this morning it was clear. It's time. Time to quit this 365. This is the first 365 that I haven't posted several of the days, the first 365 that I wasn't super excited about, the first 365 that I've quit. I've changed my social media presence and interactions the past year so this is also the first 365 that hardly anyone has been interested in. Is it the topic or my decision to not be as accessible on social media? Or is it some other reason altogether? Well, regardless...I'm throwing in the towel on this one. I can't say if I'll ever do another 365 again. Time will tell and I will know if and when it's time.
