If you think this phrase sounds familiar it might be. People attribute it to Drake and his YOLO but actually this phrase first appeared in the 1700's. In the novel Clarissa Samuel Richardson wrote, “And it teaches me to be covetous of time; the only thing of which we can be allowably covetous; since we live but once in this world; and when gone, are gone from it for ever.” YOLO has a fascinating and long history, read all about it here.
