Square Dance Day
The link provides a nice history of square dancing.
I grew up familiar with square dancing. My maternal grandparents square danced for years and years. They were part of a dance group, they traveled, competed and everything! It was kind of a big deal for them. My participation?
I played dress up with my Grandma's petticoat slips! They were itchy but I transformed them into all sorts of outfits.  :)
