'Tis So Sweet To Trust In Jesus

There is nothing like the hymns.  NOTHING.  And what I love is that they are timeless, universal, and foundational.  The message of hymns brings me back to the basics of this life I live with Christ.  I remember as a kid being so bored with the hymns, not understanding the power of the message.  As I have gotten older I have found myself preferring the hymns from back in the day to the modern day worship songs.  Don't get me wrong, I love a whole bunch of those songs but there is NOTHING like the hymns.  I remember a few years ago a friend saying she wished we would incorporate more hymns into our modern worship times.  I know what she means.  I feel blessed that almost every Sunday at our church we sing at least one hymn.  I think a lot of people believe that there is no place for hymns any longer unless you are 95 and Baptist. :) I beg to differ!  The next time you hear a hymn just listen.  Listen with your heart and see if you don't get what I keep saying about these anointed songs!

About today's hymn...
I have found nothing sweeter and more precious than to place my trust in the One who sees my life from beginning to end.  Truly there is nothing sweeter than trusting Jesus.  Oh won't you trust him today?

I have included, as I usually do when it comes to the hymns, several versions of the song.  I love that the same message can be sung in such diverse ways.  Check out the hip hop version (3rd one down on the list).  I. LOVE. IT!!

One Day Without Shoes Day Today is to raise global awareness for children’s health and education.  Why shoes? Because shoes help protect from bacteria in the dirt, rusty nails, dirty needles and shoes enable feet to withstand the long distances most children in developing countries need to walk to get to school. Join TOMS One for One There is plenty of criticism out there for TOMS and its short term solutions. Critics don't even buy the "at least they are doing something" statement.  However, you have to start somewhere. And every bit of awareness helps something go from short term to long term.  We all have a part to play. Read a Road Map Day One of the many reasons I would stink at The Amazing Race is because I never did learn how to read a road map well.  I remember doing worksheets and class lessons on maps and I was able to skate by to pa
