National Frozen Foods Day
We've come a long way baby when it comes to frozen foods. And thank goodness. Got any favorite frozen foods?  Outside of ice cream, I love frozen fruit, vegetables, evol foods, and Good Food Made Simple.

Dentist's Day
People are so afraid of the dentist!  I never have understood the fear. Sure, some of the things they need to do to keep your mouth healthy might hurt but that's true of any doctor and their specialty. And did you know that dentists can actually help save your life?  Sometimes the health, or lack thereof, in your mouth are indicators of serious health problems. So don't ignore your dentist, in fact go thank him or her today!  And if you haven't seen them lately call and make an appointment for a cleaning today! C'mon you can do it!

Day of Unplugging
I love unplugging.  I never dreamed back in my younger days that I would crave unplugging from technology, that our world would need to do so as well. I never saw the vacuum that technology would become, the way it would suck us in and disconnect us from human interaction.
So unplug today as much as you can.  If it isn't a work day for you then this is going to be much easier.  If it is a work day try these ways of "unplugging": instead of emailing a co-worker - call them instead, stay off of social media sites today - only be on the computer for work purposes, once off of work stay off of your cell phone and the computer at home and look your loved ones in their real faces - not the ones they put up on Facebook, have a game night - no, not Wii but how about Yahtzee where human interaction is required?

Unplug From Technology: 19 Ways To Spend Time Off The Grid
Don't be scared, don't be intimidated to take 24 hours off of technology.  Once your skin stops crawling, once your eyes adjust to real sights and not screen sites, and once you remember what the sound of real voices is you are going to settle in to the much needed break your mind, body, and yes even soul needs from the noise of technology.  In fact, you may like/love it so much that you decide to make it a regular part of your life.  If so, check out the Sabbath Manifesto for tips and support.

White Chocolate Cheesecake Day
I have a problem with white chocolate. It isn't chocolate!  So my Type A personality bristles at the word chocolate being used.  I'm apparently not the only one, when I saw this article title I knew I was not alone in my problems with white chocolate. "White Chocolate Is A Big, Fat Lie. It isn’t chocolate. It isn’t even Facebook friends with real chocolate. It isn’t even a LinkedIn 3rd connection with real chocolate." HA!  Here's the article.  Now the article does go on to ask the reader to get over their irritation with white chocolate BUT I simply don't like it.  I don't like the taste, even the texture is a little too...ugh for me.  So I stay away from it but others love it like they do real chocolate. If you are one of those who love white 'chocolate' and cheesecake then today is your day!

One Day Without Shoes Day Today is to raise global awareness for children’s health and education.  Why shoes? Because shoes help protect from bacteria in the dirt, rusty nails, dirty needles and shoes enable feet to withstand the long distances most children in developing countries need to walk to get to school. Join TOMS One for One There is plenty of criticism out there for TOMS and its short term solutions. Critics don't even buy the "at least they are doing something" statement.  However, you have to start somewhere. And every bit of awareness helps something go from short term to long term.  We all have a part to play.
