#SentimentalSunday

sen·ti·men·tal
/ˌsen(t)əˈmen(t)l/
adjective
of or prompted by feelings of tenderness, sadness, or nostalgia.

Watching my brothers become Uncles - thanks to my oldest redhead - has been one of the best things in my life. It was through their interactions with her from the moment she was born until present day that made me see the men they were growing up to be and what kind of Father's they would be to their own children someday. It takes nothing at all for me to think back to those days when she was an itty-bitty and my brothers - who had no experience with babies - took on soothing her when she cried, changing her diapers, helping feed her, and just snuggling. Mushy gushy heart.

What makes you sentimental today?

#MakeItHappenMonday

Are things happening to you or are you making things happen?  The difference between the two has to do with belief in self and the willingness to simply ask or take a step forward.
Today's #MakeItHappenMonday thoughts come straight from this article I ran across.

I'm not good at making things happen, I am lazy - fearful - insecure and just wait for things to happen to me. Not ideal I know. In fact, if I want to live a life that just happens and invites me to participate every so often then my attitude is perfect! But when I hear myself complain about things happening to me then it's not so perfect after all is it?

You've probably said it before, and I'm sure you've had it said to you, "it doesn't hurt to ask." That's true if you are a person who makes things happen. But if you are a person - like me - who waits for things to happen then the asking seems out of line or fear inducing or something uncomfortable.

So what kind of person are you?…

Look Alike Day (or Doppelganger)
Do you have a look alike?  Do you want to look like someone else?
When I was in High School and had hair down to my waist my classmates thought I looked like these two actresses:

Sometimes wanting to be a look alike gets to be creepy and obsessive...
Yes, these are REAL (sort of) people. They have both gone through multiple surgeries in their quest to look like Ken and Barbie, both in looks and in body shape.  Disturbing is an understatement.

Here is an attempt at being a Justin Bieber look alike.  I say it has been an epic fail but it's still disturbing.

It's fine if you happen to look similar to someone known or else but to spend gross amounts of money to attempt to look like someone?  You may need some professional counseling.  I'm just sayin'.

#ShoutOutSaturday

My framily (friends + family = framily) is the focus of my #ShoutOutSaturday. Some of these people are also in my three and twelve group but some of them are firmly in my framily. And framily is just as important in my life as my three's and twelve's. The people I call framily are ones who have experienced something life changing with me. And true to family we all don't talk to each other all the time or see each other that consistently - we are a framily spread throughout the nation - but we would be there for one another in a heartbeat, in fact we have. There is a comfort between us born of traveling together and seeing each other at our best and worst and in between. These people make my heart explode, I am so honored to call them framily.
Do you have people in your life you consider framily? Give them a shout out today!

AND HERE WE ARE 10 YEARS LATER - STILL FRAMILY!  (August 2017, with over half of our framily missing!
We almost don't fit in one whole picture a…
