For Tuesday, January 25: I'm Reading A Book

Oh my gosh.  Thank you thank you thank you Jodi Friscic for sending this song my way!  It's great!  And it is true!  For anyone who is an avid, voracious reader this song is probably your new theme song!  I love Julian Smith's humor...look for another of his songs in the near future.

I'm a day behind because, ironically enough, I was wrapped up yesterday in my newest project - transferring my books I have read and books I want to read to Goodreads.com. :)  Virtual Bookshelf on FaceBook wasn't doing it for me so I switched and I've been having fun building my list of books "to read".  I think the number sits around 350 or so.  :)  SIGH.  So many books and so little little time.

A book is intoxicating to me.  The smell of a bookstore or library is one of my favorite smells ever.  I love the smell of books, the feel of books, and of course reading the contents of books.  Books have helped me imagine, escape, learn, define, explore, think, consider, journey, and so much more.  Books have introduced me to different cultures, different time periods, different genres and so much more.

I'm reading a book so don't interrupt me!  :)

Join TOMS One for One There is plenty of criticism out there for TOMS and its short term solutions. Critics don't even buy the "at least they are doing something" statement.  However, you have to start somewhere. And every bit of awareness helps something go from short term to long term.  We all have a part to play. Read a Road Map Day One of the many reasons I would stink at The Amazing Race is because I never did learn how to read a road map well.  I remember doing worksheets and class lessons on maps and I was able to skate by to pa
