A few different ideas for this month and its name. One is it was named after Maia, the goddess of growth of plants. Another thought is the name probably comes from Maiesta, the Roman goddess of honor and reverence.

Take your blood pressure and be informed.  Don't buy the myth that too high or too low blood pressure has to do with age, it can be affected by genetics as well.
