Today Is The Day

My friend Gary loves Lincoln Brewster like I love Steven Curtis Chapman.  Really.  And it's easy to see why, Lincoln plays an amazing guitar and writes great lyrics - just like Steven.  In fact, if they did a song together that would be UHMAZING.  :)  The difference between the two is that Brewster is like Chris Tomlin in terms of song content - mostly or all worship, which is great - and Chapman is more a "storyteller" and while his songs can be ones of worship you won't hear any church singing them on a Sunday morning.  :)  Anywho...
Lincoln Brewster is a great artist and has a great heart for God.  You can tell by how he plays and sings. Some people aren't that good of actors.  :)  I really appreciate his music and I can't believe it took me until day 315 to get one of his songs on the experiment!  Gary probably can't believe it either - ha!
I chose this song by Brewster for today for a couple of reasons.  1) I really like it and since it's my blog...and 2)  it uses one of my favorite verses, especially for a Monday - Psalm 118:24, "This is the day the LORD has made, let us rejoice and be glad in it!"
Today, even though it is a Monday, can be THE day for you and for me.  Did you know that?  It can be.  Today can be the day that you and I chose to reach out to God and take his hand and let him lead us through whatever is stalling us, through whatever obstacles stand in our way to victory and freedom, to believe that what God has in store is good and what is the very best for us.  Declare it and stand on it, TODAY IS THE DAY.
Happy Monday!

One Day Without Shoes Day Today is to raise global awareness for children’s health and education.  Why shoes? Because shoes help protect from bacteria in the dirt, rusty nails, dirty needles and shoes enable feet to withstand the long distances most children in developing countries need to walk to get to school. Join TOMS One for One There is plenty of criticism out there for TOMS and its short term solutions. Critics don't even buy the "at least they are doing something" statement.  However, you have to start somewhere. And every bit of awareness helps something go from short term to long term.  We all have a part to play. Read a Road Map Day One of the many reasons I would stink at The Amazing Race is because I never did learn how to read a road map well.  I remember doing worksheets and class lessons on maps and I was able to skate by to pa
